Navigating the gloomy streets of Krat in Lies of P often rewards observant players with hidden side quests and unique narrative collectibles. One such quest involves obtaining the Faded Whistle, an item linked to a young boy suffering from the Petrification Disease. Understanding where to discover this item and how to properly utilize it ensures you do not miss out on meaningful lore and useful rewards.

Finding the Faded Whistle Location

To acquire the Faded Whistle, players must first progress through Chapter 2 and defeat the Scrapped Watchman boss inside the Krat City Hall Courtyard. Following a successful battle, explore the outer edges of the boss arena to locate a wooden bench inscribed with the word "Friends". Interacting with the bench allows you to pick up the item alongside a wooden officer puppet.

This item serves as a key recollection object that helps comfort a sick child named Toma. If you miss picking it up immediately after the fight, you can always fast travel back to the Krat City Hall Courtyard Stargazer to collect it from the bench.

Locating Toma on Elysion Boulevard

Before or after retrieving the whistle, you will need to find Toma's location along Elysion Boulevard. Teleport to the Stargazer labeled Inside the House on Elysion Boulevard, then proceed out through the doorway onto the rooftops. Navigate past the enemies and climb down the long ladder leading to the street level below.

At the base of the ladder, look for a brightly lit window positioned near several trash cans. Approach the window and interact with it to listen to Toma speak about missing his friend Murphy, the police officer puppet.

How to Use the Faded Whistle and Claim Your Reward

Unlike combat items, using the Faded Whistle requires navigating directly to your bag menu. Stand right outside Toma's window, open your inventory, navigate to the Collectibles or Recollections tab, and select the whistle to blow it. The familiar sound will trigger special dialogue from Toma, who believes his friend Murphy has returned to visit him.

After blowing the whistle, speak with Toma once more to officially complete the side quest. He will thank you and grant you a Radiant Ergo Fragment, which provides 500 Ergo when consumed to aid in upgrading your attributes or gear.
